Monday was a big day for awards at Coe Hill public school

Monday, February 9 was an afternoon of celebration for the staff and students at Coe Hill School. 

An assembly was held to recognize 11 students for their outstanding contributions and demonstrations of January’s character trait “responsibility”. 

Winners received a certificate and medallion from their teacher and vice principal Kim Ried. February’s character trait is “humour.” feb-09-09-school-present-w1

Harold Nash of Coe Hill Legion Branch 581 was also on hand to provide letters of congratulations to Jessica, Shyanne, Tori, and Brooke for their success in the Legion’s annual Remembrance Day Poster and Literary Contest.  Click here to view a photo.

feb-09-09-school-hydro-weCalvin Stein from Hydro One was on hand to present Maribeth DeSnoo of the Hastings & Prince Edward Learning Foundation, Andra Kauffeldt of Coe Hill School council and Savannah with a cheque for $5000 from the Hydro One Power Play Program. 

This money will be used to install new playground equipment at the school later this year. 

School Council is busy making preparations for a Mother’s Day themed All You can Eat Spaghetti Dinner on May 9 to raise the funds needed to finish the installation.  The staff and students wish to thank Hydro One for their generosity and support of our playground project.
