Bancroft OPP report no injuries in crash north of town May 22

 (Bancroft, ON.)  On the evening of Friday the 22nd of May 2009, Officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the report of a three vehicle collision on Highway 62 in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands, just north of Birds Creek. 

Investigation revealed that a 37 year old female of the Municipality of Hastings Highlands was operating a Buick car southbound on Highway 62 when she stopped to turn into a private driveway.  

A 79 year old male of Bancroft who was operating a Dodge car was parked on the west shoulder of Highway 62 in the same area.  

A 32 year old male of Madawaska was operating a Chevrolet pickup southbound on Highway 62 when he lost control of his vehicle attempting to avoid the Buick.  The driver of the Chevrolet pickup then struck the Dodge car parked on the shoulder.  No persons were injured as a result of the collision.  

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup, 32 year old Fredrick Paplinskie of Madawaska has been charged with careless driving and drive motor vehicle no license, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
