Logging equipment damaged on Egan Creek Trail

MISCHIEF TO LOGGING EQUIPMENT

In the evening of Sunday the 02nd of August 2009 Officer from the Bancroft OPP received the report of mischief to logging equipment on Egan Creek Trail in Tudor and Cashel Township.

opp-logoSometime since Thursday the 30th of July unknown suspects attended the location and operated four different pieces of logging/construction equipment. As a result, the equipment sustained major damages.

MALE CHARGED WITH OVER 80 AT RIDE CHECK

(Bancroft, ON.) On the evening of Friday the 31st of July 2009 Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police Highway Safety Division were conducting RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) checks on South Baptiste Lake Road in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. A Dodge pickup truck travelling eastbound on South Baptiste Lake Road approached the RIDE and when an Officer spoke to the male driver, the odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected. The male failed a roadside screening test, was arrested and transported to the Bancroft OPP detachment for an intoxilyzer test. 32 year old Ray Johnson of Bancroft, Ontario has been charged with operate a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. Mr. Johnson was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Bancroft court on the 15th of September 2009.

OPP RESPOND TO INJURED PERSON ON MONCK LAKE

In the late afternoon of Saturday the 01st of August 2009 Officers from the Bancroft OPP responded to the report of an injured wake boarder on Monck Lake in the Municipality of Highlands East. Officers attended the scene and investigation revealed that the wake boarder was jumping waves, when he fell and sustained injuries to his face and mouth area. The 22 year old male of Haliburton, Ontario was transported to Quinte Healthcare North Hastings by ambulance where he was treated for his injuries. No charges have been laid in relation to this incident.
