Tour bus full of teens crashes Tuesday on Hwy 62 southeast of Coe Hill; 7 taken to Bancroft hospital with minor injuries

TUDOR TWP  – A bus carrying 16 teenagers from a summer camp in Kingston has been involved in a single vehicle motor vehicle collision north of Madoc on Hwy 62.

Central Hastings OPP responded to the collision just before noon on Tuesday, Aug. 11.  Officers found the bus, which was towing a trailer of canoes, had flipped onto its side in a swampy area.

Fire and ambulance attended and assisted with removing the kids from the bus.

Seven of the teens have been transported to the Bancroft hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

The remaining teens were taken to Bancroft hospital by bus for precautionary measures.

The bus had left Kingston earlier in the day en route to Algonquin Park. The driver of the bus, a 22 year old male has been charged with careless driving.
