Bancroft police respond to many car crashes

BANCROFT — Between Friday the 27th and Sunday the 29th of January 2012, the Bancroft OPP responded to 7 motor vehicle collisions

– On Friday the 27th of January the Bancroft OPP were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on West Diamond Lake Road in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands.

Investigation revealed that an International snow plow truck entered the ditch and rolled.

The driver, a 60 year old male of Bancroft, attended Quinte Healthcare North Hastings in a private vehicle. The driver sustained minor injury and no charges have been laid in relation to the collision.

– On Friday the 27th of January, the Bancroft OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 28 south in the Municipality of Highlands East. A Hyundai car entered the ditch.

The driver, a 54 year old female of Toronto did not sustain any injuries. No charges have been laid.

– On Friday the 27th of January, the Bancroft OPP received the report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 62 in the Town of Bancroft. A Chevrolet car entered the ditch and rolled.

The driver, a 40 year old male of Hastings Highlands was treated at the scene by ambulance for minor injuries. No charges have been laid.

– On Saturday the 28th of January, the Bancroft OPP was dispatched to a collision on Hastings Street North in the Town of Bancroft. Investigation revealed that a Ford pickup truck struck another vehicle from behind.

The driver of the truck, a 70 year old Bancroft man,has been charged with follow too closely, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The collision was property damage only.

– On Sunday the 29th of January, the Bancroft OPP responded to a collision on highway 118 in the Municipality of Highlands East. Investigation revealed that a Ford car struck a GMC SUV.

The driver of the car, a 70 year old man from Highlands East has been charged with fail to yield to traffic, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. Mr. Goodwin did not sustain any injuries. The 77 year old male driver of the SUV from Quinte West did not sustain any injuries.

– On Sunday the 29th of January, the Bancroft OPP responded to a two vehicle collision on highway 62 in the village of Maynooth. A GMC pickup truck with a trailer attached struck a Hyundai car.

The driver of the truck, 42 year old Todd Sinclair of Orono has been charged with turn not in safety, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. Mr. Sinclair and the driver of the car, a 46 year old male of Deep River did not sustain any injuries.

– On Sunday the 29th of January, the Bancroft OPP were received the report of a single vehicle collision on highway 62, near Peterson Road. The 27 year old male of Petawawa did not sustain any injuries.
