Man charged with arson after house fire in Coe Hill

BANCROFT – On Sat. Feb. 4, 2012, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Wollaston Township Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire on Township Road 620 in Wollaston Township.

The house was vacant at the time of the fire. The Bancroft OPP and Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office were involved with the investigation.

A 42 year old Peterborough, Ontario man has been arrested and charged in relation to the investigation. He has been charged with arson and mischief endangering life, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing in Belleville court on Friday March 2, 2012.
