50 km/h over speed limit: Driver charged with racing on Highway 62 in Limerick

 

In the early morning on June 10, 2017 an officer with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), was conducting speed enforcement in the Township of Limerick.opp logo

The officer stopped a motor vehicle travelling at over 130km/h in a posted 80km/h zone on Highway 62.
The driver, a 21 year old Brock of Dysart Et Al, Ontario, has been charged with Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle.

On top of the charge, his vehicle was seized and impounded for seven days and the accused was issued a seven day drivers licence suspension.
