COE HILL – The first hunt of the new elk population is underway across the Bancroft district. There are 70 hunters with licences to take one of the elk that were re-introduced to the area a decade ago. The hunt runs Sept. 19 through Sept 25, 2011. COE HILL – A Hastings Harvest Festival is planned Sat., Aug. 27, 2011 in Coe Hill. The Coe Hill Farmer’s Market Bakery and Cafe presents the event in the Wollaston Community Centre, attached to the Coe Hill Public School, 2149 Highway 620. It’s on the same weekend as the the annual Coe Hill Fair at the fairgrounds just up the road. Brian Vardy of Bancroft pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the conditions of a probation order.
