Submitted by Bonnie Purdy COE HIL — Last year we held our 1st Annual Wollaston Firefighters Spring Event. We were able to raise just over $5,100 last year for the fire department, and would love to surpass that mark this year. We are having another Silent Auction, Dinner and Dance on April 21st at the Community Centre in Coe Hill. Happy hour starts at 5 p.m. and dinner is served at 6 p.m. Please mark your calendars. COE HILL – Calling all  local students, age four to 13! The Wollaston-Limerick Library needs your help to find a mascot. Draw, paint or cut and paste a picture of what you the mascot should be. Then bring your creation to the library for a chance to win prizes! Three finalists chosen Feb. 17. The library book club has a new selection, “Sisters of the Wilderness.” It will be in the library soon for members to pick up. Next meeting is February 16th,6 p.m. at the Library.

Submitted by Robert Woodley COE HILL — Following a summer of delays, disappointments and lift equipment malfunctions the new lift at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 581 in Coe Hill has finally passed various tests and inspections was deemed ready for use. At the regular legion monthly meal on Sun., Jan 29th the lift was put into service for the first time. Nancy Campbell-Hubbard attended the dinner and required the use of the lift to easily enter the hall. COE HILL — On Jan. 20, 10  Coe Hill public school students were recognized for their school work and self discipline, Bancroft This Week reports The morning school assembly at the school was led by vice principal Rob Lake. It first celebrated the work of six students who were awarded “Terrific Kids” awards from the Kiwanis Club. The recognition of these students related to them demonstrating leadership in their classes, and role modeling self-control and initiative.
