COE HILL – The Canadian Forces Skyhawks Parachute Team is booked to be part of the Sun., Sept. 4, 2011 Warriors Day events in Coe Hill, Ontario. Organizer John Irwin says a flypast by Canadian Forces Hercules transport plane, and an historic Harvard trainer, are also booked for the first time – depending on good weather. COE HILL – Work on a $274,000 roof over the outdoor rink in Coe Hill is about a month from completion. Township clerk-treasurer Christine FitzSimons says the project is progressing well.  The township hopes to have the new pavilion roof open as soon as possible, once landscaping is done. COE HILL – After a wet spring and early summer, work is underway on the roof over the refurbished outdoor rink in Coe Hill. Work on the $274,000 roof started three weeks ago.  It’s expected to take another two months to complete, said Township Clerk Christine FitzSimons.  A grand opening is planned when work is done, she said. COE HILL – A $450,000 low-income seniors housing project is still a go for Coe Hill, but work now isn’t expected to start now until late summer. Originally, Hasting County planned to have the four-apartment Ironwood Seniors residence complete by July 2011, but unexpected delays in needed official plan changes needed delayed the project, said Michelle Ogden, affordable housing program supervisor in the county’s social services department. COE HILL – Installation of a $274,000 roof over the outdoor rink in Coe Hill is expected to start in the last week of June 2011 and take the summer to complete. COE HILL – Organizers of the 15th annual Coe Hill Warriors Day weekend need your help to raise $30,000. That’s how much it costs to put on the event celebrating local military history and remembering sacrifices of Canadian soldiers in wars past and present, said John Irwin, secretary treasurer. “It costs us $30,000 a year, all in donations and in-kind donations,” Irwin said.
