BANCROFT – On Saturday the 31st of March 2012, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received the report of a mischief on Old Snow Road in the Town of Bancroft. Several maple syrup buckets were damaged in the area. Anyone with information about this mischief is encouraged to contact the Bancroft OPP at 613-332-2112 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477.

This is an opportunity for enthusiastic gardeners and farmers to exchange extra garden seed and share the wealth of gardening information that we have accumulated. BANCROFT – A second Tim Hortons restaurant opened Oct. 20, 2011 in Bancroft. The new outlet is along Highway 28 South, near the Bancroft hospital and the Ontario Provincial Police station. It includes a Cold Stone Creamery, serving ice cream and frozen treats. Bancroft’s other Tim Hortons, on Hastings Street North, has the same owner and regularly helps local charities like Highlands Animal Rescue Team – HART.

COE HILL – The Bickles have cooked up $6,504 in cash for the Coe Hill legion – with more meals to come So far this year, Sheila, along with Jack and Nicole Bickle have served up the food in the legion hall. “Shiela is the main organizer and driving force behind the dinner events that are put on by the legion each month,” said Robert Woodley, who helps out at the dinners.
