BANCROFT – On Saturday the 31st of March 2012, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received the report of a mischief on Old Snow Road in the Town of Bancroft. Several maple syrup buckets were damaged in the area. Anyone with information about this mischief is encouraged to contact the Bancroft OPP at 613-332-2112 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477.

We were able to raise just over $5,100 last year for the fire department, and would love to surpass that mark this year. Ontario Provincial Police press release BANCROFT – On Tuesday the 20th of March 2012, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received the report of mischief to buildings in the Town of Bancroft. Sometime overnight graffiti was sprayed on several buildings in the area of Billa Street and Hastings Street North near McCaskie TV and Stereo. Graffiti was also found at the Skateboard Park and Mr. Video on Cleak Avenue. Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to contact the Bancroft OPP at 613-332-2112 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477.

Ontario Provincial Police press release BANCROFT — On Saturday the 3rd of March 2012, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the report of a mischief in a private parking lot off Hastings Street North in the Town of Bancroft. Investigation revealed that the window of a parked vehicle was smashed. A 33 year old man from Bancroft has been arrested and charged with mischief under and breach of probation (two counts). Mr. Davis was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Belleville court on Monday the 5th of March.

COE HILL — Most power  seems to have been restored to the Coe Hill and Apsley areas as of 5:30 p.m. Sat., March 3, but hundreds of homes may not have electricity until Sunday afternoon, Hydro One says. Around 8,000 homes and businesses in the area south and southwest of Bancroft lost power overnight Friday into Saturday, as a windy winter storm swept through the area. COE HILL — Hydro One says almost 8,000 homes and businesses are without power after a windy winter storm rolled through eastern Ontario overnight March 2 to March 3, 2012. Feb. 4, 2012, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Wollaston Township Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire on Township Road 620 in Wollaston Township.
