COE HILL — Most power  seems to have been restored to the Coe Hill and Apsley areas as of 5:30 p.m. Sat., March 3, but hundreds of homes may not have electricity until Sunday afternoon, Hydro One says. Around 8,000 homes and businesses in the area south and southwest of Bancroft lost power overnight Friday into Saturday, as a windy winter storm swept through the area. Ontario Provincial Police press release BANCROFT – On Friday the 03rd of February 2012, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received the report of a snowmobile collision on a snowmobile trail in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. Investigation revealed that a Yamaha snowmobile entered a ditch and rolled onto the driver. William Huber, 50, of Alymer, Ontario was transported by vehicle to St. Francais Memorial Hospital in Barry’s Bay. Mr. Huber sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
