This year the season opens April 25 and runs until May 31, 2011, including Sundays in those municipalities that support Sunday gun hunting. Levels and flows throughout the CVCA watershed have increased due to recent snowmelt and rainfall and are expected to rise further in the next 24 hours. Source: Bancroft OPP press release BANCROFT – On Sunday the 17th of April 2011 the Bancroft OPP responded to the report of a Break and enter at the Bancroft Fish and Game building on Highway 62 in the Town of Bancroft. Investigation revealed that the building was forcibly entered and compound bows were stolen. Submitted by Cindy Crew BANCROFT – A vibrant group of all ages (but primarily young women) were assembled in protest last Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in Bancroft behind the professional building. They were protesting that Marsha Depotier had been let go at Tamarack Women’s Resource Centre due to lack of funding. Marsha is well loved in Bancroft and surrounding communities (including Coe Hill) in her role of supporting women.
