NORTH KAWARTHA – On Saturday September 26, 2009 John CONNELL, age 87 years, of Pangbourne Reading, England succumbed to the injuries he suffered in the serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 28 north of Woodview. CONNELL and his wife Joan, age 89 years who was also injured in the collision, had been visiting family in the Peterborough area. Central East Drug Unit DATE: September 23, 2009  OPP Drug Enforcement Section On the 22nd of September 2009 the OPP Central Drug Enforcement members along with the OPP K9 Unit executed a Drug Search Warrant at an O’Brien Road residence in North Kawartha Township. At the property Officers located 317 large outdoor marijuana plants. APSLEY — Highway 28 north of Woodview was closed about four hours Monday, Sept. 21, to investigate a single-vehicle crash that seriously injured at least one person. Peterborough County OPP says the crash happened at 2:05 p.m. , between Northey’s Bay Road and Haultain Road, south of Aplsey. No other information was available from OPP.

COE HILL — Drop-in yoga classes continue Monday nights this fall at the Coe Hill Dharma Centre in the heart of Coe Hill. Cost is $8 for all ages. MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION NORTH KAWARTHA TWP – On Monday September 14, 2009 at approximately 5:25 P.M., Peterborough County OPP, North Kawartha Fire Department and Peterborough County Ambulance responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 28 north of Woodview. A northbound Nissan Pathfinder had entered the east ditch, rolled over and struck a Hydro pole. The driver, Timothy Colburn, age 54 years of Apsley, was transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre with non-life threatening injuries. NORTH KAWARTHA TWP– On Friday August 21, 2009 at approximately 9:50 P.M. police responded to a vehicle/moose collision on Highway 28 north of Woodview. The driver told police that he was on his way to his cottage when a moose bolted from the east side of the road. He struck the animal as it crossed the highway in front of him. APSLEY – On Saturday July 18, 2009 officers responded to a Domestic complaint at a Burleigh Street residence. The victim told officers, her common-law spouse began arguing with her when she returned home from work. He followed her into the bedroom where he grabbed her right arm ripping the sleeve of her shirt and pushed her backwards onto the bed. FROM: Peterborough County OPP July 13, 2009 DRUG STORE BREAK IN (North Kawartha Twp., ON) – On the morning of Wednesday July 8, 2009 officers responded to a break in at the Apsley Pharmacy on Burleigh Street. The victim notified police that in the early morning hours, thieves forced entry into the building through the roof and stole approximately $6000 of prescription medication including: Dexedrine, Codeine Contin, Lomotil and numerous other drugs.
