COE HILL – About 5,000 people were without power in the Coe Hill, Bancroft and Denbigh areas Oct. 20, 2011. The Hydro One storm centre web page shows power outages across eastern Ontario, but the biggest appear to be in the northern Hastings County. As of 8:45 a.m., power is expected to be back on in Coe Hill and Bancroft by 9 a.m., and by 9:45 a.m. in Denbigh. No cause for the power outage was given.

COE HILL – The Bickles have cooked up $6,504 in cash for the Coe Hill legion – with more meals to come So far this year, Sheila, along with Jack and Nicole Bickle have served up the food in the legion hall. “Shiela is the main organizer and driving force behind the dinner events that are put on by the legion each month,” said Robert Woodley, who helps out at the dinners. Sat., Oct. 8, 2011 at 4 p.m., she officially closed her bakery in Coe Hill.  She took her sign down and sat down to relax under the shade of a tree.
