COE HILL — On Jan. 20, 10  Coe Hill public school students were recognized for their school work and self discipline, Bancroft This Week reports The morning school assembly at the school was led by vice principal Rob Lake. It first celebrated the work of six students who were awarded “Terrific Kids” awards from the Kiwanis Club. The recognition of these students related to them demonstrating leadership in their classes, and role modeling self-control and initiative. COE HILL – Power outages continue in the Coe Hill area after storms rolled through the area June 8, 2011. Coe Hill School public school is closed today, the Hastings-Prince Edward school board says. School buses are cancelled to the school and the board advises parent to keep children home from school.  Employees are told to report to their nearest school for the day. COE HILL -One of the school buses running to Coe Hill Public school has been cancelled today. Here’s a notice sent out this morning by the Tri-Board Student Transportation Services “Bus 379 going to Coe Hill PS has been cancelled for June 09, 2011.” No reasons for the cancellation were offered.

Provincial Police responded to an anonymous report of a Disturbance on Wellington Street in Apsley. Officers conducted patrols of the Village and located Hate Crime graffiti spray painted on Apsley Public School and a vehicle parked at a residence on Burleigh Street. Five other businesses and properties were damaged or spray painted with similar graffiti on County Road 504. COE HILL – Power won’t be restored until about 7 p.m. tonight for a few people in  Coe Hill, Hydro One says on its on-line “storm centre.” There’s also power outages listed in the Gilmour, Faraday, North Kawartha, Baptiste Lake , Limerick and  Burleigh Falls areas. Trouble started Thurs., April 28, 2011, when winds gusting to 100 km/h ripped across Ontario, causing power problems to 175,000 customers – including 10,500 in the Bancroft area, Hydro One said in a press release. Source:  Bancroft OPP press release BANCROFT – On Monday the 11th of April 2011 the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the report of a break and enter to a seasonal residence on Highway 62 in the Town of Bancroft. Investigation revealed that sometime over the past month the residence had been forcibly entered. A firearm was stolen from the residence. COE HILL – All- day Kindergarten is coming to Coe Hill Public School in fall 2012, the provincial government says. All day Kindergarten comes to Bancroft Public School in the 2011-2012 school year, according to the Ministry of Education website. It comes in 2012 to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School in Bancroft. It started  at Madoc Township Public School and Apsley Central Public school in 2010.  All-day Kindergarten is planned to start in 2012 at Madoc Public School.
