    Crystal:

I a haven’t seen any press releases from OPP about a crash on Hwy 28. Where did you see the wreck?

This site is a great idea. How about including a link to the Council, including meeting minutes?
Also, the Conservation Authority link would be handy.

      Wendy:

I’ve added the Crowe Valley Conservation Authority link to the list of links to down the right side of the page, but there’s not much current content on that web site. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any “news” posted there, in several years of checking.

As for the township council minutes, I’ve hesitated to post them because they’re lean on information to help someone who wasn’t at the meeting understand exactly what happened. In hindsight, I was wrong. I’ll now try to post them up as they become available, so ratepayers can follow their council’s actions. I’ll also go back and post some older minutes. Search for them under “Wollaston Council – meeting minutes”

I’m impressed with your website! I came across it while researching my grandparents William & Stella Belton who resided in Coe Hill for many years-I spent a number of vacations there in the 50’s and 60’s. Stella died in 1977. Does any one know if their house is still standing? I know that it was on the main street, single story and at the time covered in corrugated metal. I remember going across the street to the well to get water! Thanks! Lynn (Belton)McWilliam

      Hi Lynn
yes, as Mary Ann says, the house is still there., I also carried water from the well across from your grandfathers place. The house then belonged to my husband’s Aunt Alma and Gordon Davis. I was raised by my Aunt and uncle and lived beside the garage (crosby’s garage) both places burnt Jan 1960. My Aunt and uncle took over the cleaning of the public school when Mr. Belton retired.

Hi…I am one of the Glen Alda boys..came across this site a while ago and really enjoy visiting.
Being 3000 miles away from home the past 30 years, my only contact has been family and sporadic visits.
Since mom and dad sold the farm a couple of years ago, God only knows when the next visit will be. I still have many memories of Wannamakers Store, Bill McCaws pool hall and Lehighs. etc. Keep up the great work! Murray

Hi, I was born Glenalda J Brandow in 1941. I have serched for years to find out where my name came from. A few years ago while at a cottage near Bancroft I discovered the name of the small village of Glen Alda. We went there but all I found out was that it was a lumber camp and the name had been changed from Perdy Ville at some point , If you can help in my search of where the name Glenalda came from. thank you Glenalda Tuck.

I’m still looking for information on where the name Glen Alda came from. I know it is quite common in Michigan but that still doesn’t explain the origin of it. If you know anything let me know

    Hi Kevin:

Just a quick proof-reading note. On your masthead, you have links to various municipalities, including Carlow-Mayo. However, you have it spelled as “Carlo”. It is driving me crazy, and I would greatly appreciate it if you could correct this.
    Thanks, Fine Print
