Drugs, stolen goods and AK-47 rifle seized in Bancroft

opp-logoBANCROFT — On the 13th of October 2009 members of the Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit, Bancroft OPP and Drug Enforcement Section executed search warrants at a Bancroft area address, Peterborough address and two hotel rooms in Peterborough.

Officers also stopped a motor vehicle on Dalhousie Street in Peterborough in relation to the investigation.

As a result of the warrant Rory Vader, a 39 year old male of Bancroft, Ontario was arrested and taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, Mr. Vader has been charged with assault, utter threats, mischief under and 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He has also been charged with possession of marijuana over 30 grams and production of marijuana, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. Mr. Vader is currently being held in custody.

A quantity of marijuana was seized and at the Bancroft residence and hotel room in Peterborough. Officers recovered property reported stolen from Gateway Powersport and Marine in Peterborough. As a result of the investigation an A-K 47 assault rifle was also seized.
