CHARGES LAID IN IMPAIRED DRIVING COMPLAINT
BANCROFT — In the early morning of Saturday the 21st of November 2009 Officers from the Bancroft OPP received the report of an impaired driver in private parking lot on Hastings Street North in the Town of Bancroft, Ontario.
Officers located the vehicle and the male driver failed a roadside screening test. The male driver was arrested and transported to the Bancroft OPP detachment for an intoxilyzer test.
The 18 year old male of Oshawa, Ontario has been charged with operate a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood, fail to comply with and officer in charge undertaking (2 counts) and fail to comply with a recognizance, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing on the 23rd of November in Belleville, Ontario.
As a result of the traffic stop and further investigation, two passengers in the vehicle were not taken into custody, but were charged with drug related offences.
A 17 year old male young person of Oshawa, Ontario was charged with possession of marijuana and is scheduled to appear in Bancroft court on the 17th of December 2009.
An 18 year old male of no fixed address has also been charged with possession of marijuana, contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. The adult male is scheduled to appear in Bancroft court on the 22nd of December 2009.
