OPP charge two men after snowmobile theft in Faraday Twp.

CHARGES LAID IN THEFT OF SNOWMOBILES

BANCROFT– On Saturday the 09th of January 2010 Officers from the Bancroft OPP responded to the report of a break, enter and theft on Bay Lake Road in Faraday Township.

Investigation revealed that sometime overnight a garage was entered and an Arctic Cat snowmobile and Polaris snowmobile were stolen. Both snowmobiles were later recovered by police.

As a result of the investigation two local males have been charged. 22 year old Richard Demers of L’amble, Ontario has been charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property and breach of probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

37 year old Robert Whyte of Bancroft, Ontario had been charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property and 2 counts of breach of probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

Both males were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Bancroft court on February 23rd, 2010.
