Bancroft OPP charge drivers of car and snowmobile

2 MALES CHARGED WITH OVER 80

BANCROFT – On the evening of Friday the 22nd of January 2010 Officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the report of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 28 in the Town of Bancroft, Ontario.

Investigation revealed that a Chevrolet car slid into the ditch. While speaking to the adult male driver, the Officer detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage. The male failed a roadside screening test, was arrested and transported to the Bancroft OPP detachment for an intoxilyzer test.

21 year old Zachary Malloy of Bancroft, Ontario has been charged with operate motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. Mr. Malloy was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Bancroft court on the 23rd of February 2010.

On Sunday the 24th of January 2010 an Officer from the Bancroft OPP was investigating an incident on McGarry Road in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands.

During the investigation, an Arctic Cat snowmobile entered a driveway. The adult male driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Bancroft OPP detachment for an intoxilyzer test.

36 year old Stuart Vataja of Harcourt, Ontario has been charged with operate a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood and impaired operation of a motor vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

Mr. Vataja was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Bancroft court on the 20th of April 2010.
