School bus hit by car west of Bancroft, nobody injured

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION IN HIGHLANDS EAST

BANCROFT– On Tuesday the 26th of January 2010 Officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection Monck Road and Sprucedale Street in the Municipality of Highlands East.

Investigation revealed that a Saturn car was travelling east on Sprucedale Street and a Lombard school bus was travelling north on Monck Road. The bus started to turn west onto Sprucedale Street and the car proceeded to turn south onto Monck Road. The car slid across the intersection and struck the bus.

The driver of the school bus, a 63 year old male of Bancroft, Ontario did not sustain any injuries. There were students on the bus and they did not sustain any injuries.

The driver of the car, 26 year old Robert Eedson of Ancaster, Ontario did not sustain any injuries. Mr. Eedson has been charged with drive left of center, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
