Oshawa man killed in snowmobile crash on Chandos Lake

NORTH KAWARTH Twp. — An Oshawa man died Saturday night after his snowmobile crashed into a tree on an island on Chandos Lake, between Aspley and Coe Hill.

Bohdan  Krawek, 58, was operating a snowmobile  in the early evening of  Feb. 20, 2010, Peterborough County OPP report.

He departed his Chandos Lake cottage for a short snowmobile ride. He was reported missing by his son approximately four hours later.

A search by OPP Emergency Response Team discovered the Krawek at 2:30 a.m. on  Feb. 21, 2010 against a tree on a nearby island. The deceased had entered onto the frozen lake from a nearby trail and collided with a tree on an island.

The scene was attended by the Coroner and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday 22 Feb, 22, 2010.
