OPP hunts ATV that sped through RIDE check near Madoc

MADOC, ON – On Friday evening April 2, 2010, members of the Central Hastings detachment conducted a RIDE program on Seymour Street, west of Madoc.

An ATV travelling southbound on Hill Avenue failed to stop when directed by police, and accelerated past the RIDE location southbound on the Hastings Heritage Trail. Police again observed the four wheeler on Highway #62 south of Madoc, where it crossed the highway and continued south on the trail, again failing to stop.

The ATV is described as white with dark decals, possibly Yamaha. The driver was a male, and the passenger was a female with long dark hair.
