Peterborough men hurt when ATVs crashed on Saturday

BANCROFT — On Saturday the 22nd of May 2010, Officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the report of an ATV vehicle collision on an ATV trail in the Municipality of Highlands East.

Investigation revealed that a Honda ATV entered a turn, skidded off the trail, overturned and ejected the driver. A Suzuki ATV that was following the Honda braked to avoid the collision causing it to skid off the trail, overturn and eject the driver.

The male driver of the Honda ATV, 18 year old Adam Quibell of Peterborough, Ontario was transported to Quinte Healthcare North Hastings by ambulance with minor injuries.

The male driver of the Suzuki ATV, 47 year old Kevin Quibell of Peterborough, Ontario was transported to Quinte Healthcare North Hastings by ambulance with major injuries.

Both drivers were wearing helmets at the time of the collision.
