Road crashes in Faraday and Bancroft cause few injuries

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 28

On Friday the 04th of June 2010, Officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and members of the Faraday Fire Department responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 28 in Faraday Township.

Investigation revealed that a Chevrolet van was travelling south on Highway 28 and started to turn left into a private drive. A Buick car that was also travelling south on Highway 28 struck the rear of the van.

The male driver of the Chevrolet van, 52 year old Paul Courneyea of Beamsville, Ontario was transported by ambulance to Quinte Healthcare North Hastings with minor injuries. The 48 year old female passenger, also of Beamsville did not sustain any injuries.

The male driver of the Buick car, 63 year old Stephen Bauder of Bancroft, Ontario was transported by ambulance to Quinte Healthcare North Hastings with minor injuries. Mr. Bauder has been charged with follow too closely, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

COLLISION IN TOWN OF BANCROFT

On Friday the 04th of June 2010, the Bancroft OPP responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Sherbourne Street North and Station Street in the Town of Bancroft.

Investigation revealed that a Ford van was travelling west on Sherbourne Street North and a Ford pickup truck was travelling east on Sherbourne Street North. The pickup truck turned left and struck the van.

The driver of the van, a 50 year old male from L’amable, Ontario did not sustain any injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, 20 year old Justin Hooey of Bancroft, Ontario did not sustain any injuries. Mr. Hooey has been charged with turn not in safety, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
