Driver had minor injuries after ATV crash on Highway 28

BANCROFT — On Saturday the 17th of July 2010 Officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 28 in the Municipality of Highlands East.

Investigation revealed that a Polaris ATV was travelling southwest on the shoulder of Highway 28 when it went off the shoulder, down a hill and rolled.

The male driver of the ATV, a 52 year old man from  Toronto, was transported to Quinte Healthcare North Hastings with minor injuries.

The driver was charged with careless driving, contrary to the Off Road Vehicle Act.
