Historic Ormsby now has signs to put it on the map

Signs went up in July 2010 to mark Ormsby, at the intersection of old Highway 620 and the Old Hastings Road, at the Wollaston-Limerick township boundary. Brent Goodwin photo.

ORMSBY — Limerick Township erected two signs at the settlement of Ormsby July 14, so you never forget where you are when travelling east of Coe Hill.

The crossroads of old Highway 620 and Old Hastings Road already has a provincial historical plaque, in front of the Old Hastings Gallery.

Some consider Ormsby a ghost town, since it once had 225 residents but now has only handful.
