Provincial police charged boaters over holiday weekend

ADDINGTON HIGHLANDS Twp. Provincial police officers laid several charges on lakes over the 2010 Civic Holiday Weekend, related to liquor and lack of boating safety equipment.

Boat patrols were conducted on Otter, Weslemkoon and Kashwakamak and Mazinaw lakes, Kaladar OPP reports.

Officers focused on the “ the big three” causes of injuries on the waterways: checking several vessels for safety equipment compliance (floatation device), drinking and driving.
