ATVs, pickups damage grass runway south of Coe Hill

HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN Twp. – Damage hasn’t yet been tallied after trespassers on all-terrain vehicles and pickup trucks tore up a grass landing strip near Oak Lake.

The runway along Fire Route 65 was damaged sometime between Wed., Aug. 4, 2010 and when the trespassing was discovered Fri., Aug. 6, 2010, Peterborough provincial police report.

Police say they have no leads at this time and the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information should call  Peterborough County OPP at 705-742-0401 (night line 1-888-310-1122).  Or leave an anonymous tip to Peterborough Northumberland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (1-800-222-8477) and you might get a cash reward.
