Passenger caused car to crash into cemetery near Madoc

MADAOC – The passenger in a car that crashed into a cemetery south of Madoc will be going to court to explain why she  grabbed the steering wheel.

Sat., Aug. 7, a car left Highway 62, drove through a fence and hit grave stones, Central Hastings OPP reports.

A 20-year-old passenger grabbed the wheel, causing the driver to lose control and crash. Police say alcohol was involved.

There were no injuries to the driver or two passengers, but the car was badly damaged and had to be towed.

A Quinte West woman, 20, was charged with mischief.
