COE HILL — It was a beautiful weekend for the Coe Hill Fair Aug. 27 and Aug. 28, 2010.
The skies were blue, the night’s mild and there was no rain in sight. The midway was busy and the grandstands filled for events like the horse pulls after Saturday’s western games.
Fair secretary Albert Vader said the numbers of entries in the fair contests were strong this year. Of the 260 registered members in 2010, 150 people entered something.
Here’s another take on the fair, from someone who posted photos and story on his own web blog.
Wollaston Heritage held a 50/50 draw at the old train station on the fairgrounds. The winner was Darwin Campbell, of Clydesdale Road, taking home $339.75. The heritage committee will use its share to put towards history project in the township — perhaps a museum one day.
The general meeting of the Coe Hill Agricultural Society is set for Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wollaston Township office.
