Teen slashed with knife for ignoring Remembrance Day

MADOC – A Millbridge teenager was charged assault after slashing another teen who wouldn’t observe two minutes of silence on Remembrance Day.

At 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, 2010, a girl, 15, approached a male teen on Elgin Street in Madoc, when “he failed to stop at her requests to acknowledge a two minute moment of silence for Remembrance Day,” Central Hastings provincial police report.

She cut his hand with a  box cutter  knife, causing a significant wound, police said.

She was charged with assault with a weapon and is expected to go to Belleville Youth court Dec. 14, 2010.
