Get into the Christmas spirit with carols at Ormsby church

The Old Ormsby Heritage Church was established in 1904, as a Presbyterian place of worship.

ORMSBY – Two Christmas carol services are planned Sun., Dec. 5, 2010 at the Ormsby Heritage Church, at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The guest Minister is Lyle Horn from Grace United Church in Peterborough. He used to be the minister for St. Andrew – St. Ola – The Ridge Pastoral charge.

Howard Baer is the organist and will also have his string bass along.

Lillian Oakley Pattison will be singing and there will be a brass trio featuring Al Kay , one of Canada’s leading trombonists and a cottager on Dickey Lake.

Gary Pattison and Vince Barbee from the National Ballet Orchestra round out the trio.

After the services the congregations are invited to The Old Schoolhouse Tea Room for a time of fellowship, Lillian’s home-made shortbread cookies and hot apple cider.

Everyone welcome.

Reserved seating to make sure everyone can fit into the wee church, on the Old Hastings Road, just south of old Highway 620, between Coe Hill and Highway 62.
