Faraday man hurt when snowmobile hit tree at Bentley Lake

FARADAY Twp. — A Faraday Township man is in hospital with serious injuries after a snowmobile hit a tree along the shore of Bentley Lake, along Highway 28 southwest of Bancroft on Dec. 31, 2010.

Bancroft Provincial Police report a Polaris 800XC was traveling northwest on Bentley Lake and struck a tree on shore just before 4 p.m.

The driver and the passenger were ejected from the snowmobile, police say.

The driver, Michael O’Day, 48,  of Faraday Township was taken by ambulance to hospital in Bancroftwith serious non-life threatening injuries. He was later transferred to Kingston General Hospital.

The passenger, a 45 year old Peterborough man, wasn’t hurt.

The investigation continues.
